Gas Prices Show Rise In Southeast After Explosion

According to AAA gas prices rose 3 cents/gallon in Alabama and Georgia , and 2 cents/gallon in South Carolina yesterday.

This coming off the explosion of the nation’s crucial gas line in Alabama yesterday. While diesel is flowing fine, gasoline is expected to be a small issue. The pipeline is not expected to re-open until Saturday which will make it a 7 day closure,

In September, when the same pipeline was closed for 11 days due to a leak, a small panic ensued as rumors of shortages had motorists running to pumps in a frenzy. The frenzy actually caused the gas shortages at most pumps.
