Ruby Rachel Vassar, age 81, passed away at St Thomas Rutherford Hospital December 3, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Freeland and Novella Williams; and sisters, Jean Gordon and Paralee Williams. She is survived by her husband, James Vassar; daughter, Mary Ellen (Jason, III) Pankey; and grandchildren, Ryan Nathaniel and Jason Isaac.
Visitation with the family will be 4:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home.
Chapel service will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home with Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Thyatira Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
