It was a rough day for many Rutherford County teams trying to make the TSSAA State Championship. When the dust cleared , only the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks finished with a chance to make the big game. In a day of many rain delays, action finally finished up late last night.

Murfreesboro Central was eliminated from Class AA in a 5-3 loss to Covington and a 8-1 loss to CPA.

Blackman lost both their games yesterday in Class AAA action. They lost to Brentwood 6-2 and then to Dobbyns Bennett (who they beat in Game 1) 4-3.

After the day started with a 3-0 loss to Jefferson County, Stewarts Creek found themselves with their backs against the wall. Game 2 produced a 4-1 win over Houston and a chance for revenge today. The Red Hawks will face Jefferson County at 2:00 at Oakland today. Win, and they will play  Jefferson County again at 4:30
