It’s time to take a look back and then a look forward of all things football.

  • MTSU looked good. It was Alabama A&M . But, they looked impressive. That’s all over. The battle for Middle Tennessee Football Braggin’ rights is this weekend. Last time The Blue Raiders and Vandy met, MTSU ruined the ‘Dores bowl bid.  I watched both games last week. I stick by my original prediction in June: MTSU wins.
  • Smyrna and Oakland continue to dominate opponents. Interesting match-up this Friday as a non-conference opponent in undefeated Independence travels to town. Eagles already have one win in Rutherford County when they beat Siegel in Week 1. Bulldogs have dominated in their first 3 games.
  • Battle of Bristol is this weekend. The biggest ever attended college football game ever will be at Bristol Motor Speedway as over 150,000 are expected to attend concerts , ESPN College Gameday, and possibly the game that night. Hokies are coming off a decidedly easy win over Liberty College. The Vols struggled with Appalachian State before winning in OT.
  • Our Week 1 “Pick Six” went 5-1 . Bob Stoops inability to live up to fans’ expectations kept us from a perfect record.
  • Titans open up the season against a Vikings team in turmoil on Sunday. It’s 9/11. We’re home. Turmoil. I like the Titans chances! But what do I know? Listen to what TitanInsider.com “Locked On Titans” has to say. Expert analysis from Brad Hopkins, Terry McCormick and Greg Arias.
