Gordon Lew Cook, Sr., born December 29, 1936 passed away July 7, 2022 at the age of 85 at Ascension St Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
He was born in Wilson County and lived most of his life in Rutherford County. He was former owner/operator of American Marine of Murfreesboro and Bel Air Phillips 66 Service Station. Lew was a member of the Jaycees, Lascassas-Milton Lions Club, Deacon, and lifetime member at Bradley’s Creek Baptist Church and Lascassas Volunteer Fire Department.
Lew was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Willette Harris Cook; daughter Lounita C. Howard; and sister, Audrey Juanita Sauls.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Davis Cook; brother, Vernon (Sue) Cook; sons, Chip (Hope) Cook of Milton, Richard (Lisa) Cook; daughter, Cindy Cook; son-in-law, Bobby Howard; special friend, Traci Welchance; grandchildren, Crystal (J.D.) Baird, Melody (Rod) Morgan, DeAnna (Tyler) Allen, Charles (JoAnna) Cook; four great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home.
Church service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Bradleys Creek Baptist Church with Teb Batey, Darrel Whaley, and Russell Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Bradley Creek Cemetery with Lascassas Volunteer Fire Department serving as pallbearers.
