Middle Tennessee prepares for its final road swing as the Blue Raiders travel to Hattiesburg to face an improved Southern Miss Golden Eagle squad.

Despite only being 4-3 since they last played the Blue Raiders, Southern Miss has held strong in Reed Green Coliseum, amassing a 10-1 record at home this season.

However, Middle Tennessee plays some of their best basketball on the road, owning the record for most true road wins in Division I this season with 10.

Additionally, MT currently holds a six game win streak against the Golden Eagles. In fact, Middle Tennessee hasn’t lost to Southern Miss since 1959.

In the matchup earlier this season Middle Tennessee triumphed by 20 behind strong performances from Brandon Walters and Giddy Potts despite leading scorer and rebounder Nick King being limited due to an ankle injury. Tyree Griffin paced the Golden Eagles in that contest with 21 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals.

The Blue Raiders continue to maintain a strong pace in league play thanks in part to King, the reigning C-USA Player of the Week. The Memphis, Tenn., native is averaging 21.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game and has earned C-USA weekly honors four times this season..

Although his scoring has taken a slight dip in conference play, King’s rebound numbers increase to 9.4 against league opponents. King is one of three Blue Raiders averaging in double figures against conference opponents, joining Potts (13.5) and Antwain Johnson (10.5).

Tip-off between the Golden Eagles and the Blue Raiders is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Reed Green Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on Stadium via Facebook.
