Investigation Underway After Death by Suicide at MTSU Library

UPDATE: The student who died by suicide inside the James E. Walker Library on the MTSU campus on Monday, Oct. 28, has been identified as 21-year-old Logan Birdsong, preferred name, Serenity Birdsong.

The Murfreesboro Police Department is investigating an incident this afternoon involving a student who died by suicide in the James E. Walker Library on the MTSU campus.

There is no immediate threat to the campus.

the library will remain closed until further notice as the investigation is underway.
