Baseball Roundup: Blackman downs Smyrna, 7-4

Blackman edged Smyrna 7-4 Wednesday in District 7-AAA baseball action.
The Blaze improved to 18-7 with the win, as Zavien Lindsey and Michael Dimartino drove in two runs each for Blackman in the win.
Smyrna fell to 5-16 overall this season.
Stewarts Creek rolled past LaVergne 9-3 as the Red Hawks pushed their season record to 18-7.
In another 7-AAA game, Riverdale edged Oakland, 4-3, as the Warriors improved to 16-9-2, while the Patriots dropped to 9-15. Riverdale won despite getting just two hits in the game, as Matt Henning picked up the win on the mound for the Warriors.
Central Magnet ripped Canon County in an 8-AA doubleheader, as the Tigers defeated the Lions 13-3 and 11-1 to improve to 18-8 on the year. Parker Phillips slugged a three-run homer for Central in the first game.
Siegel split with Brentwood, losing the opener, 5-3, but winning in the nightcap 5-2. Drew Benefield homered in a losing cause in the first game, while Zac Pearson had a pair of hits in the second game for the Stars, who are now 14-12.
Jared Smith pitched a complete-game shutout as Middle Tennessee Christian topped Huntland, 3-0, to improve to 11-10 on the year.
Eagleville improved to 12-10 on the season, taking a 4-1 victory over Community.
