William Lewis “Dick” Perry, age 82, of Christiana, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born to the late Johnnie Boone and Mable Lee Teems Perry on December 24, 1942. He had five siblings and is the last of his siblings. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Morton Perry, of 56 years, and Perry Denton Woodruff.
Lewis is survived by his three children, Denise (Lamar) Sissom of Morrison, Carol (Woody) Woodruff, and Brian (Rhonda) Perry of Christiana. He has 10 grandchildren, April (Tyler) Weaver, Kelsey Woodruff, Dillon (Emily) Woodruff, Trevor (Ally) Perry, Skylar Sissom, Madison (Preston) Barge, Trent (Chelsea) Perry, Brayden Woodruff, Benjamin Woodruff and D’Andrew Donaldson; and nine great-grandchildren, Ally, Tanner, Addy, Annzley, Axell, Lainey, Levvy, Mabel and Trace. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Junita Perry.
Lewis was a member of Millersburg Baptist Church. He loved his church and the people. He was a devoted and faithful man to his church. Lewis started his career at Samsonite for 8 years, then went on to farming before starting his own business in maintenance.
Lewis loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had many names, especially to his nieces. Lewis was a happy person and loved to crack jokes and joke around. In previous years, Lewis remodeled his family home. Moving there, he was the happiest person and lived there with his family until his passing.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home. Chapel service will be on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM with grandson, Dillon Woodruff, officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
