Thursday afternoon, all Siegel Middle students were evacuated due gas leak.

Rutherford County Schools sent the following information to parents:

ALL STUDENTS ARE SAFE BUT WE WANT TO GIVE YOU AN IMPORTANT UPDATE.

Dismissal for both the middle and high school will be done from Siegel High School today because we are not expecting the gas leak to be resolved before the normal dismissal time.

If you have a Siegel Middle student who is a car rider, we are planning to release those students early as soon as parents can get there. This will help us to reduce traffic congestion during normal dismissal time.

Bus riders for both schools will be released at the normal time.

If you are a Siegel Middle parent and plan to pick up your child, we have some instructions for you.

Thompson Lane has been closed in front of the middle school.
You will need to come down Siegel Road and enter at the main entrance adjacent to the marquee sign.
You will then need to circle behind the school and people will be on site to direct you about where to pick up your children.

We know this situation will cause traffic congestion today and we appreciate your patience as we work through this situation.
