James Steven Sanders, age 82 of Murfreesboro passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024.
He was a native of Carthage TN and was preceded in death by his parents, William Sanders and Mary Roller Sanders.
Mr. Sanders was a member of First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro and was retired from Motion Industries as manager for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in Washington for much of his military career. Mr. Sanders was part of the Presidential Honor Guard in Washington for President Eisenhower and President Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Sanders; daughters, Desiree Netherland, and Varity Stone and husband David; grandchildren, Daniel Netherland and wife Linda, Cameron Stone and wife Spenser, Ashton Stone; brother, Ralph Sanders and wife Barbara; sister, Mildred Zimmerman; loving caregivers, Carolyn Harris, and Christy Faulk.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Funeral service will be 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. www.woodfinchapel.com
