    I-24: Crews are now planning on opening one lane eastbound at 4PM. One lane westbound is already open. Full roadway opening this evening.

  • I-24 closure: We have word that one lane on I-24 WB should be opening in the next 20 minutes or so. EB lanes still est. 4PM opening.

  • 1:52 p.m. : I-24 in Rutherford Co: The crash involved two TTs. The TT near the EB lanes was carrying sugar and the material will have to be offloaded.
  • 1:42 p.m. :  I-24 in Rutherford Co update – Currently our crews estimating a 4PM opening of I-24 EB. Still unknown for the westbound side.

  • 6:30 a.m.: Buchanan Estates Now Being evacuated
  • Residents who live in Buchanan Estates off the 89-mile marker of Interstate 24 are asked to shelter in place because of chemicals from a tractor-trailer fire at the 87-mile marker. The chemicals are dangerous. Please stay in your house, watch your TV station or watch for a deputy to notify you when it’s OK to leave your home. Roads affected include Epps Mill Road, Miller Road, Capitol Way, Rankin Road and Aldridge Road and near the Dollar General store. Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies are in the area using a public address system to warn residents. Please beware and follow their instructions for your safety.
