The Blackman Blaze and Oakland Patriots, who survived in District 7-AAA tournament play last week, both advanced to the Region 4-AAA championship with convincing wins on Tuesday.
The Blaze topped Tullahoma, 4-2, and will host the Patriots on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
Four different players found the net for Blackman, as Carson Kennedy opened the scoring with a first-half goal. After Tullahoma tied the game, the Blaze answered back, this time with a score from Luke Buckley.
The Blaze later got goals from Matt Jobe and Shane Lauterbach to put the contest away.
Oakland, meanwhile, rolled past Franklin County, 4-0, to earn a rematch of the district championship against Blackman.
The Patriots got goals in each half to dispose of the Rebels. Oakland improved to 12-2-3 with the win.
In Region 4-A/AA, Central Magnet School went on the road to claim a 3-2 victory over Chattanooga Notre Dame. That victory moves the Tigers (15-2) into Thursday’s region championship, where they will face Merrol Hyde Magnet in a rematch of last week’s District 8-A/AA title game.
