UPDATE: Shooting At Apartment Complex Now Ruled Homicide

UPDATE From MPD:

At 8:11pm last night, MPD Officers responded to 1841 New Lascassas Pike in reference to shots fired.  Officers arrived at 8:13pm and discovered the victim, Kendrick Love, near a picnic table adjacent to the J building.  Mr. Love had one gunshot wound to the upper torso and his injuries were deemed to be life-threatening.  Mr. Love was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Emergency Room, where he was later pronounced deceased.  Witnesses on the scene reported seeing three black, male subjects running from the area shortly after the shots were fired.

The Criminal Investigations Division Violent Crimes Unit is investigating.  Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP(7867).

This is the second homicide in 2017.

Police in Murfreesboro are investigating a shooting in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Tuesday night.

Officers responded to the shooting around 7:45 p.m. at the Gateway Apartments at 1841 New Lascassas.

Police found a person in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. That person was transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-893-7867.
