Running back and senior, Savion Davis completed the 2017 season with more than 1700 yards from scrimmage. The ‘do it all’ back ran, caught and returned kicks for a total of 31 touchdowns this year while also leading his team to the second round of the TSSAA playoffs for the second straight year. A playoff run where his Warriors toppled the undefeated Mt. Juliet Bears in the first round.
Savion Davis beat out Maryville’s, Dylan Hopkins and Germantown’s, Jaylin Williams for 6A’s Mr. Football.
Savion is the first Riverdale player to win Tennessee’s Mr. Football award since 2007, when lineman, LaDarrius Verge took home the hardware.
With his illustrious career over at Riverdale, Davis has not yet committed to a college team. So the next step for him will be playing in the TACA All-Star game. The game will be on Dec. 8th at Austin Peay. Savion, is one of 38 players from the Midstate area that were selected to participate in the All-Star game.
