Reverend H.V. “Bob” Allred, age 92 formerly of Jamestown, TN passed away Tuesday February 5, 2019. He was born May 11, 1926 to the late Virgil & Emma Todd Allred of Clarkrange, TN. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years Lydia Irene Hayes Allred, grandson John Wright, son-in-law David Wright, sister Willadean Rose, and brother James B. “Jim” Allred.
He was a proud U.S. Army veteran. He served honorably in France and Germany from September 12, 1944 until July 24, 1946 during WWII. He was the former pastor of the Jamestown Weslyan Church in Jamestown, Tn until 1995 when he moved to La Vergne. He founded the Lighthouse Weslyan Church in La Vergne, Tn in July 2001 where he remained pastor until he retired in 2009.
He is survived by his daughter Linda Wright of La Vergne, son Dan and wife Linda Allred of Shelbyville. Grandchildren Toni Poole, Charlie Wright, Heather Walper, Joy Wright, Scot & wife Tonya Wright, Lori & David Howell. Great-grandchildren Alexus, Garrett, Ashton, Emily, Haley, Anthony, Matthew, Gracie, Megan, Abby, CJ, Sam, Autumn, Brandon, Austin & Kaitlin and one great great-grandchild, Grayson. Brothers Bernard and wife Ann Allred, Hoyt & wife Bonnie Allred, Howard & wife Jo Allred.
Visitation will be Friday, February 8, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Funeral services will be Saturday February 9, 2019 at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery.
