Mr. H. Carlyle King of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, he was 90 years old.
Born in Richmond, TN, he was the son of the late Allen Benton King, Sr., and Annie Elizabeth Darnell King. Mr. King was also preceded in death by his son, H. Carlyle King, Jr., brothers, Elmer W. King and Allen Benton King, Jr., and a sister, Nina Ruth Dubois.
Mr. King is survived by his wife of 71 years, Bessie Walker King of Murfreesboro, TN; sons, Roger King and his wife Sandra, and Rodney King and his wife Sandy all of Bell Buckle, TN; grandchildren, Alice (David) Dumm of Lexington, SC, Roger Lynn King, Jr. of Bell Buckle, TN, Ruth Anne (David) Estes of Auburntown, TN, Karen (Jaime) Matlock, Lance (Susie) King, and Travis (Melody) King all of Murfreesboro, TN; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. King retired as Master Sergeant after 21 years from the U. S. Air Force Security Forces. He was a Korean, Vietnam, and Cold War Veteran. Mr. King was a member of Kingwood Church of Christ.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel prior to the 2:00 PM funeral service Sunday. Minister Jeff Brown and Billy Webb will officiate. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family encourages that masks be worn, and social distancing practiced at all services.
