Barry Lane Greever, age 76 of Murfreesboro, TN, formerly of Naperville, IL, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
He was the son of the late C.E. and Helen Lane Greever. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Janet Greever.
Mr. Greever is survived by his son, Lane E. Greever and his wife Gretchen; daughter, Julie Greever Hartmann and her husband Tom; grandchildren, Carson and Ainsley Greever, Alex, Audrey, and Ashton Hartmann all of Naperville, IL; brother, Don Greever of Murfreesboro, TN; and mother of his children, Wrenne Stockard Jakubiak of Naperville, IL.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. A private family graveside with military honors will be held in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Greever was a graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School where he served as Student Body President his senior year. He received his BS degree from MTSU in 1968, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Mr. Greever was a US Army veteran, serving in the 9th Combat Infantry Division in Vietnam. He was retired from Operations Management with Sears Corporation at the Sears Corporate Headquarters at the Sears Tower in Chicago, IL.
His kind and friendly spirit touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
