The Smyrna Bulldogs stunned Riverdale 8-2, Monday, picking up their first District 7-AAA victory of the season.
Smyrna, which improved to 4-14 overall. Preston Burnett and Dayton Sanders each had two-run triples for the Bulldogs in the game.
Riverdale fell to 13-7-2 on the season.
Central Magnet pushed its record to 13-6, as the Tigers pounded Smith County in District 8-AA play. Hunter Jones hit a grand slam and drove in six runs for the Tigers in the victory.
In other action involving Rutherford County teams, Eagleville topped Middle Tennessee Christian School, 9-2. The win evened the Eagles’ record at 10-10, while the Cougars fell to .500 at 8-8.
