Smyrna softball collected a pair of victories against visiting teams from Illinois on Tuesday.
Smyrna shut out Adlai Stevenson High school, 6-0, and edged Dundee-Crown High School 6-5, as the Lady Bulldogs ran their season record to 13-4-1.
The Siegel Lady Stars played those same two Illinois teams Tuesday and split their games. The Lady Starts trounced Adlai Stevenson High, 14-3, but lost a close game to Dundee-Crown, 4-3.
In other Rutherford County softball play Tuesday, Kali Penny struck out six in pitching a shutout for Central Magnet in a 7-0 victory over Smith County.
