OBITUARY: Summer Dawn Pate

Summer Dawn King-Pate, age 38, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2018. Born on October 29, 1980, Summer was a loving daughter and mother. She was loved by all who knew her. Summer was a “people person” and had numerous friends with whom she consistently kept contact. Summer especially loved her beautiful niece, nephews, aunts, uncles and extend family. To know her was to love her. Summer faced many challenges, and through them she built a strong and capable character. Summer had a warrior spirit. Her life was full of adventure and she always faced adversity with confidence and wit.

Summer was preceded in death by her brother, Jennings Clayton King;
parents, Robert Anthony (Tony) King and Janie Lou Watters King;
children, Olivia Vera (Lily) Pate and Katherine River Rose Troupe;
sister, Natalie Rose (King) Fluty; husband, Michael Howard Fluty; and
brother, Cordell Emby King

Summer was a graduate of Riverdale High School. She served as a trainer for the Riverdale Football Team – earning a championship ring along with the team when the team won the state championship in 1997. Summer loved cooking for her family. She loved ‘small town’ atmosphere and loved outdoor activities. At the same time, she always had her nails painted, makeup done perfectly, and always dressed right for the occasion. Her kind heart and giving nature endeared her to everyone. She was beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside. She was simply beautiful. Summer was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Jennings & Ayers.
The chapel service will be at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Jennings & Ayers with Bishop Vaughn Barry officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Windfield, TN at 3:30 p.m.
