Christina “Crisi” Elizabeth Denton Manley, age 40, of Murfreesboro TN, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard “Pop pop” Denton.

She is survived by her husband, Jason, her mother, Debbie Denton, her father, Jonathan Denton, her sister Kelyn Denton (Zachry Vercher) and nephew Rivers, her brother Jeremy Denton (Candace) and their children Lydia, Nolan and Todd, step-niece Haley Sires, nephew Gabriel Jannotta, grandmother Glenna Denton, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Crisi was a top-notch and much loved LaVergne High School math teacher. She was a natural leader, serving as the PLC and math lead at LHS, and in 2019, was named a state-level finalist for a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science. She cared deeply about education, having just earned a Master’s in Education degree.

She was a steadfast lover of family and nature, caring deeply for human rights and environmental causes.

Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with a Celebration of Life at 5:00 p.m. Her students, former students and coworkers are encouraged to attend and join the Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Civil Liberties Union, the Human Rights Campaign, or to the Tybee Island Marine Science Center.
