Middle Tennessee Christian’s Kemari McGowan and Drew Berry each scored two touchdowns, leading the Cougars to a 55-21 rout of Clarksville Academy on Friday night.

MTCS raced to a 38-0 second-quarter lead after Mason Williams returned a fumble for a score, and easily hung on.

McGowan tacked on a 55-yard scoring run in the third quarter, making the lead 44-0.

A Barry touchdown accounted for MTCS’s final points.

The teams battled through a scoreless first quarter. But McGowan’s touchdown run, followed by the Cougars’ customary 2-point conversion, gave MTCS an early 16-0 advantage.

By the second quarter, the rout was on.

MTCS’s Grant Pickard caught a scoring strike, then, receiver Logan Brady caught a pass from quarterback Jagger Goins for another TD and a 32-0 lead.

MTCS travels to Friendship Christian next week.
