Oakland running back Jeron Rooks ran for five touchdowns as the Patriots blasted Siegel by a 50-14 score on Friday night.

Rooks carried 18 times for 172 yards, and added a catch for 25 more. Oakland two-way star Woodi Washington added six catches for 124 yards and an interception for the Patriots (8-0).

Oakland trailed 14-7 early after Siegel’s Lelan Wilhoite (24 carries, 126 yards, one catch for 24) dashed 80 yards for a score, but the Patriots turned on the jets from there.

But Rooks answered with touchdown runs of 6 and 17 yards, the second, followed by an Oakland 2-point conversion, giving the Patriots a 22-14, second-quarter lead.

Oakland quarterback Timmy Goodrich added a 5-yard touchdown scamper at the 2:53 mark of the second quarter.

By half, that lead was 36-14 once Oakland’s Washington had a 15-yard touchdown catch with under a minute left in the second quarter.

Rooks added touchdown runs of 3 and 10 yards in the second half for the Patriots. The last came with 5:26 remaining.

Siegel’s Brendan Crowell hit Ethan Vanhook with a 4-yard touchdown pass with 2:50 left in the first quarter, as the Stars took a 7-0 lead.

Oakland’s Rooks scored on a 5-yard run to help even things at seven.

Kameron Goodrich had an interception and a fumble recovery, and Christian Cantrell also pounced on a fumble for the Patriots’ defense.

The Patriots had 496 yards of offense, 366 coming on the ground. Oakland’s Brevin Linnell added 100 yards and a touchdown passing on just eight attempts.

Oakland travels to Cookeville next Friday. Siegel hits the road to face Coffee County the same night.
