Fall..Cooler weather…leaves blowing… and all things pumpkin. Pumpkin spice, pumpkin latte, pumpkin creamers, pumpkin beer, pumpkin bread,  pumpkin farms. It’s a wonder that pumpkin pie waits until Thanksgiving for it’s turn. Corn mazes, animals, farm livin’… and yes…pumpkins ..abound this weekend and throughout October.

With decent weather forecasted for the weekend we thought we would spotlight 2 Rutherford County Farms to take the wee ones and the young at heart.

Lucky Ladd Farms

Corn Maze Adventure

September 14 through October 30

Our mind bending corn maze will keep you guessing! Each year an exciting new twist is added to make this popular fall attraction even more challenging.

Pumpkin Patch

September 21 through October 30

It’s pumpkin picking time! Find over 10 varieties of pumpkins to choose from. Tennessee’s favorite fall family tradition, make your way down to the Lucky Ladd Farms pumpkin patch to pick your perfect pumpkin.

LPetting Zooucky’s Barnyard is reserved for our sweetest, cuddliest, cleanest and most well behaved animals. Feel free to brush the goats and sheep. Get up close and personal to pet and feed chickens, llamas and other animals that wander through the petting yard.

Stop by the barn and take a sneak peek into Henny Penny’s chicken coop to watch baby chicks as they hatch from their eggs.

Watch our sure-footed goats scale the “Goat-A-Coaster” high in the sky over the roof top of the barn. They will steal your heart with their silly tricks.

Batey Farms

Join us as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the republication of “Charlotte’s Web” book, featuring Batey Farms’ own Wilbur!  The corn maze will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting September 30th through October 30th, weather permitting.  Besides the corn maze, we will also offer concessions and pumpkins for you to buy as well as Campfire Sites to rent for the family. www.bateyfarms.ticketleap.com/cornmaze

Explore the world of agriculture and learn interesting facts as you roam through the state’s largest, 14 acre corn maze. Open day and night time hours to enjoy!  The maze will have a quick snack stand located in “Charlotte”, farm facts and some location points to help guide you through. The maze is stroller and wheelchair accessible, but we recommend more “all terrain” type mobile units if possible. Maze ticket sales will stop 1 hour before closing each night.

Some helpful hints before coming:

“Flashlight app and/or map-my-run apps” on your smartphone can help you on your navigational trail! Or bring your own flashlight if coming during evening hours.

Close-toed shoes and layered clothing are highly recommended.

No children will be allowed in the maze without a parent or guardian. Persons renting campfire sites must be 18 years or older.

No alcohol or smoking will be allowed on the property.

Our concession stand “Batey’s Kitchen” will be open all hours offering up some tasty treats including our famous Bacon Pork burgers, Batey’s own gourmet, all pork hot dogs, along with sides of popcorn and craft sodas. Enjoy some good eats while the kids enjoy climbing atop “hay mountain.”

You-Pick and pre-picked pumpkins will be available near our concession stand.  Prices will vary depending on size, but will be the best in town! Enjoy some of our decorated hay bales and photo stand while here!

Fire pits are available to rent in 2 hour blocks.  Firewood and rustic bench-style seating will be provided, but you may bring extra folding chairs and your own food to enjoy.  We do not supply fire pit food or roasting sticks. We recommend no more than  15 people per fire pit.  No alcohol will be permitted and you must be over 18 years of age to rent a fire pit. Guests visiting fire pits may park in our general parking and enjoy a wagon ride over to the pits!
