Puckettâs Gro. & Restaurant recently presented a check for $623 to local nonprofit organization Tuckerâs House, as a result of the restaurantâs fundraising campaign last month.
The down-home, Southern style eatery pledged to donate a portion of the dayâs sales on May 10 in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Tuckerâs House, which provides assistance to families of children with disabilities through specialized retrofitting resources to meet their needs and to make their homes accessible and safe environments.
In true Puckettâs form, live music and community were key elements of the campaign. Guests were treated to an evening show by Jesse Kramer, and representatives from Tuckerâs House — as well as a local family who has benefited directly from its work — were present throughout the day to speak to diners about the cause that their purchases helped to support. Children diners were also given the opportunity to show their creativity on coloring pages, which were put together as books of encouragement for the children that Tuckerâs House currently serves.
Andy Marshall and Rachel Layton, CEO and Marketing Director of A. Marshall Family Foods, respectively, along with several members of the Puckettâs Gro. team, presented the check and coloring books to Tuckerâs House Founder and Executive Director, Sunny Rosanbalm, and its Volunteer Coordinator, Lori Grimes.
