Annual Golf Classic Set To Tee Off

The Blue Raider Athletic Association (BRAA) will hold the annual Chuck Taylor Blue Raider Golf Classic sponsored by Atmos Energy on Monday Sept. 26 at Stones River Country Club. Named for the former Middle Tennessee and major league pitcher, the tournament has grown over the years to be one of the most successful fundraising events in the Middle Tennessee community.

The double shotgun best ball handicap event will begin at 8 a.m. Registration for the 8 a.m. flight starts at 7 a.m., with lunch for both flights starting at 11:15. Registration for the 1:30 p.m. flight starts at 12:30 p.m. Hors d’oeuvres and awards will be presented at 6 p.m.

“The Chuck Taylor Golf Classic is an event that we look forward to every year,” said Keith McCluney, the Associate AD of the BRAA. “This event plays a vital role in our efforts to provide resources for our student-athletes.  It’s a great day of golf and fellowship for all of us who love the Blue Raiders and we appreciate all of the golfers and sponsors who invest their time and money into this great event.”

Entry fee includes:  Golf at Stones River Country Club, official BRAA merchandise, lunch and beverages on the course throughout the day.

Members of the winning foursome will represent Middle Tennessee in the Acura College Alumni Team Championship at Pinehurst in North Carolina.  This prize includes housing for three nights, all meals, and golf.  Other prizes will also be awarded during the event.
