It was a tough day for the Oakland Patriots on Tuesday, as the Boys’ Soccer road to the Championship started. But, Murfreesboro Central wins in big fashion and remains alive.

Houston Too Much For Oakland

It started just after the 10:00 minute mark and never let up. Houston pelted Oakland’s Padiac Gilley, taking a total of 20 shots, 13 in the first half. Two goals in the first half, and two more in the second was enough to lead Houston to a 4-0 win. the Patriots end up at 20-5 on the season.

Murfreesboro Central Soccer Wins, Faces Big Second Round Showdown

It took only :45 seconds, not minutes , seconds. That’s when Murfreesboro Central’s Zavier Phillips scored the first of his two goals on the day. Central out shot an overmatched Jackson team 19-3 and scored 3 goals in the first, two more in the second. The last goal also scored by Phillips. Murfreesboro Central moves to 18-2-1 and faces a familiar Class A-AA opponent in CPA. CPA is 21-0-3 this year and is coming off a 3-0 shut out of Lexington last night. Game time (weather permitting) is at 7:00 on Field 4 at Siegel.
