Kenneth Wilson Cothron, age 92 of Murfreesboro and formerly of Plano, TX, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Cothron was born on August 16, 1932 to Lucy Wilson Cothron and Martha Massey Cothron in Macon County, Tennessee.
He was a graduate of Trousdale County High School where he excelled in football serving as team captain and was a recipient of the Middle Tennessee First Team Award given by the Nashville Tennessean.
After high school graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University. He had a long career in sales with 3M. Mr. Cothron was a member of Kingwood Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Betty Lauderdale Cothron; daughters, Phyllis Kittle, and Sherrie Gilliam and husband David; grandchildren, Michael Kittle and wife Jennifer, Elizabeth Womack and husband John, Caroline Carothers and husband Richard; great- grandchildren, Alex, Soren, Abigail, Alan, Ansley; and brother, Max Cothron and wife Karin.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 2nd from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Woodfin Funeral Chapel – Murfreesboro. Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Friday, January 3rd at Old Hartsville Cemetery in Hartsville, Tennessee. https://www.woodfinchapel.com
