Murfreesboro Detective Injured During Narcotics Search Warrant

Today, July 31, 2018, at 2:45 PM, while Murfreesboro Police Detectives and Officers were executing a search warrant for narcotics at 1015 Grantland Avenue a negligent discharge of a weapon occurred.

The discharge resulted in a Detective being shot in his leg. The Detective has been transported by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. He is currently listed in stable condition. No other
injuries occurred.

The Detective’s name is not being released at this time to allow for family to be notified.

The Murfreesboro Police Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility is conducting a full investigation of this incident.
