nat nightThis event is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. LPD would like to invite the citizens of La Vergne to come out on August 2nd and enjoy an evening of fellowship.
National Night Out isn’t all business and no play. There will be family-friendly activities as well learning opportunities. One of those activities is a seatbelt convincer, which simulates a low-impact 5-10 mph vehicle collision to stress the importance of wearing a seat belt. La Vergne Fire Department will attempt to keep their winning streak alive by taking on the La Vergne Police Department once again in the National Night Out softball game. Come cheer on your favorite team — or better yet, both teams! Game starts at 6:30pm. Parents can come socialize while the kids enjoy an inflatable slide and obstacle course. The Rutherford County Mounted Patrol will be on site and K-9 officers will be available for pictures and belly rubs! Other great city organizations like LPD SWAT, La Vergne Rescue Squad, Life Flight, Box 100, and Molly the therapy dog will all be in attendance. Food and cold drinks will be available! This free event will be held at the front of Veterans Memorial Park on August 2nd at 4pm-8pm. We would like to encourage residents to come out for a night of family fun and community bonding.
