Rutherford County Sheriffâs Deputy Michael Harris received the Outstanding Officers Award of Class 1836 last week at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy.
Harris earned the highest overall average of academic classes, firearms training and physical training in the 10-week class to certify law enforcement officers in Tennessee.
Patrol Major Steve Spence said it was an honor for Harris to receive the award.
Harris joined the Sheriffâs Office June 20, 2016 as a detention deputy. He was promoted as a patrol deputy Oct. 16, 2017.
