Center for the Arts presents Heathers on stage now through Sept 16. Based on the classic 1989 film, Westerberg High is ruled by a shoulder-padded, scrunchie-wearing junta: Heather, Heather, and Heather, the hottest and cruelest girls in all of Ohio. But misfit Veronica Sawyer rejects their evil regime for a new boyfriend, the dark and sexy stranger J.D., who plans to put the Heathers in their place – six feet under. Rated R for offensive language and depiction of suicide.

In conjunction with the show, Center for the Arts is partnering with Insight Counseling Centers to bring an interactive mental health awareness campaign. The #MurfreesboroMood wall is getting the conversation started about destigmatizing mental health, raising awareness about the prevalence of mental illness, and providing communities in Middle Tennessee with information about where they can receive quality, affordable mental health services.

The wall holds 21 different emotion word stickers – including words like joyful, stressed, exhausted, thankful, and hopeful – for people to take and literally “wear their emotions.”

Insight Counseling Centers, founded in 1985, is a 501(c)(3) with the mission of restoring lives to wholeness – mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
