Roadrunners Run Wild

MTSU hosted their first opponent in two weeks today. In those two weeks the Blue Raiders picked up a key C-USA win at FIU and a dominant victory against a SEC team in Missouri. After today, the Raiders probably wished they were still on the road as they welcomed in a 4-4 UTSA team. U of Texas at San Antonio came out of the gates quick and really never looked back.

On a day that saw back up red-shirt freshmen, John Urzua play due to Brent Stockstill being knocked out of the game, nothing went the Raiders way. Urzua entered the game already in a deficit, down 21-7, a tall order for any quarterback. The Raiders would never rally as the Roadrunners did just that, run. Amassing 270 rush yards against Tyrone Nix’s defense. The finale score would be 45-25. With the loss the Raider drop to 6-3 on the season and 3-2 in conference play.

The Raiders are back on the road (perhaps where they are a bit more comfortable) next week as they travel to meet the Thundering Herd of Marshal.
