Keith Siskin, a Rutherford County Judge who presided over the Sixteenth Judicial District, has passed away after a long and hard fight against crohn’s disease Sunday.

Judge Siskin, a Georgia native, moved to Murfreesboro after completing his studies at the Georgia School of Law. After working as a Law Clerk in Murfreesboro, Siskin accepted a position in Nashville to further his career. After his stint in Nashville, Siskin moved back to Murfreesboro where he started his own law practice in 2002. Siskin would go on to be admitted as an Attorney and Counsellor of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in 2004. In 2012 Governor Bill Haslam appointed Siskin to the Circuit Court; in 2014 Siskin would be elected to a full, eight-year term.

Siskin leaves behind his wife, Sheri and two grown daughters, Micah and Shae.
