Just as students head back to class, Starbucks is bringing back another familiar fall assignment: ordering a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
The coffee chain’s fall menu officially returns Aug. 25, led by the iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte and an expanded lineup of seasonal drinks, food and merchandise.
Pumpkin fans will have several options this year, including the new Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso, Pumpkin Spice Chai and Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha. Returning favorites include the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai and Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino.
Pecan flavors are also returning to the menu with the Pecan Cortado, Iced Pecan Crunch Latte and Pecan Crunch Latte. Starbucks is also leaning into the popularity of banana-flavored treats with two new drinks inspired by freshly baked banana bread. The Iced Banana Bread Latte and Iced Banana Bread Chai combine banana, cinnamon and brown sugar flavors and will remain available beyond the fall season.
Another new addition is the Chaider, a cider-inspired twist on chai featuring cinnamon and sweet spice. The drink can be ordered hot or iced, depending on whether customers are ready for sweater weather or still dealing with August temperatures.
The fall food menu includes the new Chicken Bacon Protein Pocket, made with chicken, bacon, and garlic-herb cheese in toasted whole-wheat lavash. The new Hedgehog Cake Pop features vanilla cake, buttercream, chocolate icing and sprinkles, while the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin returns with a sweet cream cheese filling and spiced pepitas.
Starbucks will also release a PSL Society merchandise collection featuring seasonal drinkware and a hat created for devoted Pumpkin Spice Latte fans.
For anyone unwilling to wait until August 25, Starbucks pumpkin spice coffees, creamers and ready-to-drink beverages are already arriving in grocery stores.
School may be back in session, but at Starbucks, the most important fall test is deciding between pumpkin, pecan, banana bread and chai.
