OBITUARY: Kenneth Eugene Pitman Jr.

Kenneth Eugene Pitman, Jr., age 76, of Smyrna, TN, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 8th, 2022 in the comfort of his home.

Kenneth was born on February 2nd, 1946 to Kenneth and Dona Pitman and raised by his grandparents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Pitman in the city of Richmond, Indiana.

Kenneth pursued a career in truck driving, and was passionate about his many trips around the United States.

Kenneth met and married his wife Margie in Marion, IN where they lived for several years before moving to Tennessee in 1980.

Kenneth retired in 2012 after 40 plus years in the trucking industry to care for his wife and family.

Kenneth is preceded by his wife, Margie Maglean Pitman. His parents Kenneth and Dona Pitman and grandparents Lawrence and Elizabeth Pitman. Also preceded by family members he considered close friends.

He is survived by children, Kevin (Cathy) Kelch of Lebanon, Greg (Kim) Kelch of LaVergne, Kathy (Timmy) Rich of Smyrna and Kent Kelch of Woodbury; grandchildren, David (MaryAnn) Kelch of Murfreesboro, Kalan Kelch of Arizona, Emily (Christopher) Gannon of Lebanon, Greg (Chelsea) Kelch of Lavergne, Mollie (Trevor) Sullivan of Murfreesboro, Zach Kelch of LaVergne, Lindsay (Brad) Gordon of Smyrna, Katie Ivey (Chris Tarpley) of Unionville, Kirk (Lisa) Kelch of Woodbury and Dereck (Jennifer) Kelch of Smyrna; Along with 18 great-grandchildren as well as good friends like Gunn.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna, TN. Funeral services start at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Murfreesboro. https://www.woodfinchapel.com
