FirstBank has hired Mike DeFere as a commercial relationship manager at its Murfreesboro financial center. In his new role, DeFere will be responsible for growing the FirstBank market presence and strengthening current business relationships.

Prior to FirstBank, DeFere worked at an area bank for 14 years, where he began as a branch manager and was promoted to a district manager. As district manager, he oversaw 10 branches in the Middle Tennessee region.
âI look forward to serving new and existing customers in Murfreesboro,â DeFere said. âMy priority is to be a dedicated banker and advisor to business owners, and I am excited about the possibilities with my new role at FirstBank.â
DeFere graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing and was a Leadership Rutherford graduate in 2016. He is an active volunteer and supporter of the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties, Rutherford County Special Kids, and Habitat for Humanity. He is married with two daughters.
