City Council to hold Special Meeting to Name Interim City Manager

Rob Lyons, 51, has held Murfreesboro’s City Manager title since 2009 and was the cities first Assistant City Manager, but Friday, December 15th, Lyons announced his resignation effective immediately. Lyons stated that his choice to resign comes from his hopes of pursuing new career goals.
During his tenure as City Manager, Lyons received several accolades including, “Rutherford County Person of Influence” in 2014, the Pinnacle Award by the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce as well as the DNJ’s “Person of the Year” in 2014.
With Lyon’s departure, a new name will fill the void. City council will hold a special meeting for position this month.
