La Vergne residents could see a decrease in their homeowner’s and commercial property insurance premiums thanks to new initiatives pushed forward by The La Vergne Fire Department. LFD was able to achieve a Class 3 ISO rating which puts LFD in the top 9% ISO-graded fire departments in the country. La Vergne Fire Chief Rick McCormick was notified last week of the new class rating.

“This is something we have been trying to achieve for awhile now. I couldn’t be prouder of our Department,” said McCormick.

LFD would like to encourage all La Vergne residents and businesses within the city to notify their insurance carriers as to the ISO rate change. Don’t forget to mention your distance from a fire hydrant, as this can also make a different in insurance premiums. The new Class 3 rating takes effect October 1.
The city would like to thank the staff of the La Vergne Fire Department, the La Vergne Communications Center, the La Vergne Water Department (specifically Severn and Trent at the City Water Treatment Plant). LFD would like to extend gratitude to the previous and current Mayor and Board of Alderman for their support. Finally, City Administrator Bruce Richardson deserves special recognition for seeing this vision through to reality!
