A man fatally shot another man before taking his own life early Tuesday at a Murfreesboro apartment complex.
Officers responded to Saddlebrook Apartments around 1:44 a.m. after reports of a shooting and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services pronounced both men dead at the scene.
Detectives said the preliminary investigation indicates one man shot and killed the other before taking his own life outside Building F. Investigators have confirmed the two men knew each other.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The identities of the two men have not been released pending notification of their families.
