  1. The stealing that goes on in ALL of the stores in our country effects every single one of us because the businesses raise the prices on the goods and services that they represent. The companies have to raise their prices to cover the cost of the losses. We inturn have to pay higher prices for the exact same amounts of goods and services which hurts ALL of our bank accounts. It’s not fair to all of us hard working people many of whom are barely making it by as it is. WHY should people that don’t work and break laws after laws be rewarded with free goods and services that the rest of us have to work so hard to have. When these law breakers are caught they are let go with a slap on the wrist of a low level citation or at worst probation after an extremely easy sentencing. If these people are caught stealing they should be held accountable 100%!! Only if it is their first offense and depending on the amount of the theft, they could be given a long probation period. Other than that they should be required to serve jail time and more than a few months. With the laws and the sentencing being what they are now, what is the deterrent? If they are just going to let every shoplifter off then why should the rest of us obey the law? See what a slippery slope that can and has set us on. We have to ruffed up our laws and have truth in sentencing. This is just my opinion.
