The Smyrna Police Department is now accepting applications for its upcoming Citizens Police Academy, offering residents an inside look at how the department operates.
The free program is open to adults ages 18 and older and will run from Sept. 8 through Nov. 3. Classes will be held Tuesdays from 6 to 9 p.m.
Participants will take part in interactive sessions covering topics such as traffic stops, criminal investigations, patrol operations, narcotics enforcement, facility tours, and other aspects of law enforcement.
