Early in the morning on Saturday, June 22, 2019, Stewart Speer peacefully left this world and entered into his heavenly home.
He was a loving and well-loved son, husband, father, son-in-law, uncle, grandfather, and friend.

Stu is preceded in death by his father Jim and is survived by his mother, Norma, his wife Karin, his son Kristofer, his daughter Kyrsten and her husband Jimmy, grandchildren Nathaniel, Analiese, and Tabitha, Mother-in-law Audrea, sister Laurie and her husband Jim, brother Michael and his wife Becky, sister Jaymie and her husband Bob, brother-in-law Rick and his wife Becky, and five nieces and three nephews.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and spending the last few years in Tennessee, Stu spent most of his life in Fairfield, Connecticut, a place that he very much enjoyed. His career was in industrial mechanics, but his talents were numerous, including hunting, fly-tying and angling, leather working, amateur radio, kayaking, and custom knife making. Stu loved the Lord and loved to dig into the study of the Bible. He had a boisterous laugh and a beautiful singing voice.

He loved his time spent behind the sound board at Trinity Baptist Church in Fairfield, CT and his many years coordinating sound and lights for theatrical productions at Christian Heritage School. Some of his favorite experiences were playing Irish music with the Shamrogues of Fairfield, CT, and his opportunities to play with John Whelan and John Brennan.

The ultimate delights of his life were his wife and his three beautiful grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, June 25, for a time of private viewing followed by a celebration of his life.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Stu’s name to Converge.org (missionary ID#210128), or the American Diabetes Association via the “In Memory” option.
