Middle Tennessee’s men’s and women’s basketball programs are set to host the third annual Murphy Madness to open up the 2016-17 Blue Raider basketball season on Thursday, Oct. 27.
Admission to the event is free for all Blue Raider supporters and will feature a showcase of this year’s men’s and women’s basketball teams as well as interactive events for fans.
The festivities will begin at 4:00 p.m. with trick or treating in the Greenland Drive Parking Lot hosted by Alpha Delta Pi and Fraternity and Sorority Life. The trick or treating will be continued inside on the Murphy Center concourse at 5:00 p.m. There will be photo booths and inflatables available both inside and outside.
Murphy Madness is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. with the introductions of the 2016-17 Blue Raider student-athletes and coaching staffs.
Members of both Blue Raider teams will put on a show with multiple different skill competitions throughout the evening, including 3-point competitions and a slam dunk contest.
Fans will also have opportunities to be a part of the action as a student competition will take place on court while one lucky fan will have a chance to sink a half-court shot to win a new vehicle from Ford of Murfreesboro.
Both the men’s and women’s teams will be available to fans after the action for autographs.
The full schedule of events along with the announcement of a special guest will be released on Oct. 16.
