It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Terica Simpson (Teresa), who departed this life on Saturday, March 29th, 2025, at home in Smyrna, TN, at the age of 75.
Teresa was born on February 22nd, 1950, in Nashville, TN. She was a loving mother and a true friend. Raised in Nashville, TN, she worked many years as a 4-star Cracker Barrel waitress before later becoming a flight attendant. Teresa had a remarkable ability to make anyone laugh and knew how to bring smiles to those around her.
She loved bowling and billiards, spending many years participating in local leagues. She even achieved a few perfect games at Tusculum Lanes in Nashville. Teresa was also a skilled pool player, an exceptional dart shooter, and the luckiest card player you ever met.
In 1992, she met the love of her life, Jim Simpson. Together, they spent the next 25 years traveling the United States and living abroad in nine different countries, all while always calling Smyrna, TN, home.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Simpson; her children, Scott (Lisa) Owen, Bridgette Puckett, and Michael (Julie) Owen; her aunt, Betty Piper; her sisters, Dena Smith and Judy Williams; and her brother, Dennis Williams. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Joseph (Sabrina) Puckett, Lexi Owen (Chris Cravens), Chase Puckett, and Emma Kimble; great-grandchildren, Addison and Marlee Puckett; as well as nieces Angela Lea McElhiney (Thomas Bubba Crumpler) and Tabitha Danielle Smith (Curtis Eldon Shultz), along with a host of other nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life will be held at Ellis Funeral Home, located at 2627 Nolensville Pike, Nashville, TN 37211, on Thursday, April 10th, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Per Teresa’s request, flowers are appreciated and welcomed.
