Middle Tennessee is set to kick off the 2017 spring season Friday as the Blue Raider women’s golf program competes in the three-day Florida State Match-Up in Tallahassee, Fla.

The Blue Raiders are one of 12 teams in the field and will be paired with the South Florida Bulls for the opening two rounds of the Match-Up.

The event, hosted by Florida State, will be played at the Par 72, 6,260-yard Seminole Golf Club.

Other teams in the field are Coastal Carolina, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Virginia.

MT’s Katherine Holmes will lead things off at 7:38 a.m. CT on Friday. The freshman played in all five events for the Blue Raiders in the fall.

Sophomore Jenna Burris will follow Holmes at 7:46. Burris averaged 78.2 strokes per round during a difficult fall slate with her best outing coming at the Lady Paladin Invitational where she logged a 12th place finish at even par.

Junior Cynthia Bounleutay will be making her Blue Raider debut Friday, teeing off at 7:54. She will be followed by MT’s top two golfers from the fall in senior Samantha Gotcher (75.2) and sophomore Hanley Long (75.4).
