It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joshua Maurice Hickman, who left this world too soon on August 4, 2025, at the age of 43. Joshua was born on March 28, 1982, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the loving parents Maurice and Lydia Hickman. He was a cherished son and brother, whose life brought joy and warmth to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Joshua was preceded in death by his beloved fraternal twin brother, Jonathan “Jon” Martin Hickman, and his father, Maurice L. Hickman. Despite the heartache of losing his closest companions, Joshua’s spirit remained vibrant and full of love. He is survived by his devoted mother, Lydia Dianne Martin Hickman, and a beloved nephew, Jaylen Hughes, who will carry his memory forward with love and pride.
Throughout his life, Josh was known for his unique interests and hobbies. He had a passion for collecting memorabilia and treasures from estate sales, where he would often find items that piqued his curiosity and delighted his friends and family. His love for animals was evident in his home, which was a sanctuary for dogs, cats, a beloved rabbit named “Bugs,” and an impressive fish aquarium that brought peace and beauty into his life.
Josh’s adventurous spirit shone through in his love for riding motorcycles, where the thrill of the open road brought him immense joy. He embraced life with a sense of wonder and enthusiasm that inspired those around him.
Joshua’s presence was marked by his kindness, warmth, and a genuine heart. His ability to connect with others made him a beloved member of his community, and he will be remembered for his laughter, generosity, and unwavering support of his friends and family.
As we gather to celebrate Joshua’s life, let us remember the moments that defined him: his laughter, his passions, and the love he shared with those around him. In the face of loss, may we find solace in the memories of the joyful times spent together and the bond that will forever connect us.
