I have been known to lunge after friends who “borrow” my favorite pen and start to walk away with it. For some people, and you know who you are, a pen that writes smoothly and has just the perfect feel is nirvana. (Okay, I’m a writer. All writing tools thrill me. But other non-writer types also obsess over their favorite pen.)
Early in my career I had a boss who had a collection of non-plasticy ball points. From elegant silver to fiery red and cool tortoise, these were not only fashion-forward pens. Every meeting I watched, mesmerized as she whipped out her fancy pen and proceeded to take decisive notes. Something about the pen signified her “I’m a bad-a@# boss lady with amazing taste who notices every detail.”.
Today, I have a collection of pens and love pulling out my pen-of-the-day to check off to-do lists, journal and jot down notes.
