Plans are made, grills and smokers prepared, and Mother Nature is coming to the party. Will the fireworks happen tonight ? Maybe. Will it storm today? Probably. When? This afternoon through early to late evening.
Let’s see what we know and don’t know for your holiday:
Expect To Get Wet Sometime Today
If you don’t see rain, and we will be surprised if you don’t, the humidity and heat will be so miserable with heat indexes around 100 * that it will feel like you are in a warm shower…constantly. This morning should be good but windy. But, anytime after noon showers and storms could pop up anywhere. A 50% chance of rain and storms in Murfreesboro, increases to 60% for Nashville and 70% for the Kentucky-Tennessee border. Heavy rains are probable, winds likely, and maybe hail. Here’s how The NWS sees it:
But Will I See Fireworks?
This becomes more iffy. It’s all about timing. As for the times for the fireworks, you can get those here. As for the timing of the storms, that’s difficult. Most models have the storms dying by fireworks times. But all agree it will be wet. The NWS discussion says there’s a chance that the cloud levels will be high enough.
Rutherford Source will monitor the situation again at noon and update. Watch Twitter @RutherfordSRCE or use our phone friendly radar.
